The OCCI specification is implemented by several commercial and research projects.

Work is ongoing on refinements and the next revision of the specification.

We are currently researching the possibility to push OCCI into the direction of Platform as a Service

OGF 25 OCCI was founded during a BoF session at OGF25 in March 2009 by Ignacio M. Llorente and Thijs Metsch. It was first named Cloud API (CAPI)

OGF 26 First results where presented while the working group is now called Open Cloud Computing Interface. Alexis Richardson, Sam Johnston and Andy Edmonds meanwhile co-chair the group.

OGF 27 OCCI tries to present one of the first Standards for the Cloud Community

OGF 28 OCCI present ongoing work and first implementations.

OGF 29 The specification has gone through public comment and is succesfully demoed together with SNIA's CDMI.

OGF 30 Another demo is planned and the next revision of the specification is to be released for public comment
