  • The OCCI specification is implemented by several commercial and research projects.
  • Work is ongoing on refinements and the next revision of the specification.

Roadmap

  • We are currently researching the possibility to push OCCI into the direction of Platform as a Service
  • Possbile extensions for IaaS might include:
    • Billing
    • Snapshotting
    • Advance Reservation
    • SLA negotiation
    • In-depth Monitoring

The past

  • OGF 25 OCCI was founded during a BoF session at OGF25 in March 2009 by Ignacio M. Llorente and Thijs Metsch. It was first named Cloud API (CAPI)
  • OGF 26 First results where presented while the working group is now called Open Cloud Computing Interface. Alexis Richardson, Sam Johnston and Andy Edmonds meanwhile co-chair the group.
  • OGF 27 OCCI tries to present one of the first Standards for the Cloud Community
  • OGF 28 OCCI present ongoing work and first implementations.
  • OGF 29 The specification has gone through public comment and is succesfully demoed together with SNIA's CDMI.
  • OGF 30 Another demo is planned and the next revision of the specification is to be released for public comment
