ETSI, OCEAN Project, OGF, OW2 and SNIA invite you to their first joint Cloud Interoperability Week, 18th – 20 Sept, co-hosted with the EGI and SDC conferences.
If you want to have your say fill in the Cloud Standards Implementation Survey.
The event will provide an insight into the current state of Cloud Standards implementations and use cases. It continues the series of Cloud Plugfests aimed at promoting interoperability efforts on cloud standards-based software, services, frameworks, products and projects and will be combined with a workshop and demonstrations.
The Cloud Interoperability Week will be co-located with the EGI Technical Forum and OGF39 at the Hotel Melia Castilla, in Madrid, Spain, 18th – 20 September. Registration is free and will be open shortly to public and private companies involved in cloud solutions based on recognised standards.

Hot on the heels of the OCCI OpenStack implementation (wiki, code review) a number of our community members (big thanks to Eugene from R2AD) will be organising an OpenStack Design Summit unconference OCCI session. All are welcome to it from the inquisitive to the sceptical!
Topics to be discussed include:
- What is OCCI and its goals?
- Where does OCCI fit the OpenStack picture?
- How should OpenStack address “extra” APIs?
The session will be on Wednesday at 4.30pm.in the Golden Gate room.
A number of OCCI members have got together and have written this piece in InfoQ.com on how an open and interoperable can be presented to end-users using today’s contemporary cloud standards, including not only OCCI but also CDMI and OVF. The article is the result of the excellent meetings had at the DMTF APTS back in May.
We’re pleased to announce that a F2F meeting for OCCI will be organized in Boulder, Colorado, USA. Thanks to our colleague Mark Carlson from Oracle who helped set this up. This will be a continuation of the Cloud Plug Fest and all our collaboration efforts with other standards and groups up until now.
The meeting will happen during the DMTF Alliance Partner Technical Symposium (16th to 20th of May) on Monday and Tuesday. Please feel free to register and point out that your are going to be available.
During this F2F we would like to address and discuss some topics (the agenda is not fixed yet and can change if needed):
- Update on OCCI activities,
- OCCI demos,
- CDMI/OCCI integration,
- OCCI/OVF integration,
- Initial JSON rendering discussions,
- Collaboration with NIST,
- Security-related discussions.
A focus output for this event will be a document that will describe the intergration of major standards regarding clouds, most notably DMTF’s OVF, SNIA’s CDMI and of course our own OGF OCCI. It will describe how these standards working together can create an open and standards-based cloud service offering.
We would like to invite all to bring in their ideas on this topic and look forward to seeing you in Boulder!
